TAWAU, January 22, 2024 – Deputy Director General (Management) of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA), Mrs. Shobah Jamil, emphasizes that the highest management has decided to prioritise urgent matters and necessities for all aspects of NADA’s administrative facilities.

She stated that this is to ensure that every implemented action is comprehensively beneficial, other than effective cost management.

“For example, the allocation of capital is very limited each year, so if we distribute it to all responsibility centres (PTj), I am sure it would not be effective.

Hence why, I believe that acquisitions with urgent needs are better and more cost-effective.

For instance, office assets such as chairs are an urgent need for every PTj, so we prioritize these acquisitions first,” she said during her speech to NADA staff in the Tawau District, Sabah, on Monday.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Shobah mentioned that the Anti-Drugs Scheme is one of the most crucial schemes in public service.

“This scheme already has its own expertise, so I agree with the Director General of NADA that we need to strengthen this scheme to ensure the services provided are always relevant to the community,” she said.

Earlier, Mrs. Shobah also monitored the construction work progress of the Narcotics Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) in Balung, Tawau, Sabah.

The monitoring involved land measurement and markings, simultaneously observing the actual location of the PUSPEN construction site covering an area of approximately 12 hectares.

Representatives from the Tawau District Survey and Measurement Department also participated in the monitoring session, explaining land measurement work.

Also present were the Director of the NADA Management Services Division, Ahmad Musadad Sulaiman, and the Director of NADA Sabah, Nani Sikin.
