61 clients receive a helping hand for Aidilfitri

KUALA SELANGOR, April 1, 2024 – A total of 61 clients of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) in the Kuala Selangor District received donations of essential goods in preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

The programme, organized by the Selangor State NADA in collaboration with the Selangor State Islamic Religious Council (MAIS), aims to alleviate the burdens of the clients while also enlivening the Ramadan and Syawal spirit in them within the NADA community.

According to the Director of Treatment, Medication, and Recovery Division of NADA, Puan Siti Mariam Mursidan, the event is an annual programme initiated by NADA to assist the less fortunate clients.

“Such programmes, which are part of the social support component, are designed to aid in the rehabilitation of NADA clients participating in the Community Treatment and Recovery Programme (RPDK).

“By offering these programmes, we hope to strengthen the bond between NADA and its clients and their families, who serve as the primary source of support during their lifetime recovery,” she said here on Monday.

Earlier, she delivered donations of essential goods to NADA clients in conjunction with the Program Kasih Ramadan AADK at the Kuala Selangor District NADA Office.

Through the programme, various activities under the psychospiritual component were conducted with clients and their families, such as Quranic recitation, Ramadan lectures, obligatory prayers, and congregational Tarawih prayers.

Meanwhile, Siti Mariam stated that the implementation of the programme is also to enhance the clients’ understanding of psychospiritual aspects as a therapy for the foundation of recovery.

“With this program, we believe we can improve emotional, cognitive, and behavioural intelligence, which are often disrupted due to addiction problems,” she explained.
