ALOR SETAR, March 18th, 2024 – Two consideration papers have been approved through the Meeting of the State Action Council for Drug Elimination (MTMD) of the Kedah State 1/2024.

The first consideration paper approved by the Kedah State Government is the Public Awareness Information Board Campaign, followed by the second paper, ALteR@Community Programme, which has been supported by relevant ministries/departments.

The meeting, organised by The National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) of the Kedah State, was chaired by the Member of the Kedah State Government Meeting concurrently the Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Housing, Local Government, and Health, YB Mejar (B) Mansor Zakaria at the State Operation Room, 6th Floor, Darul Aman Building. 

During the meeting, the Chairman requested that every party express their respective commitments alongside the efforts to intensify campaign awareness through disseminating information related to addiction problems, especially by utilising billboards under the supervision of local authorities (PBT).

At the same time, two briefing papers, the Implementation of the Tekad Programme for Government-Linked Companies (GLC) in Kedah State and the Implementation of the One Stop Center for Addiction (OSCA), a treatment and intervention services centre provided by the Kedah State Health Department, were presented and noted by all meeting members. 

Earlier, the Deputy Director-General (Operations) of NADA, Mr Khairul Anwar Bachok, paid a courtesy visit to YB Mejar (B) Mansor.

Also present at the courtesy visit was the Director of Kedah State NADA, Khairul Anwar Ahmad.
