SEPANG, Nov 5, 2023 – The Continuous heavy rain downpour caused the Sepang Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) under the management of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) to be hit by flash floods.

It happened following a sudden rise in water due to the bursting of the dams at Sungai Semenyih and Sungai Labu, resulting PUSPEN area being flooded with water almost 1 meter deep.

According to PUSPEN Sepang Director, Shamsul Anuar Mohamad Saleh, the incident took place around 4pm, the evacuation of office premises and quarters was carried out on the advice of the Sepang District Disaster Committee.

“A total of 23 families who lived in the department’s special housing area have been moved to the Temporary Transfer Center (PPS) at Jenderam Hilir People’s Hall.

“Meanwhile, 200 clients have been transferred to five PUSPENs, namely 30 clients each at PUSPEN Tiang Dua and PUSPEN Jelebu; 98 clients at PUSPEN Dengkil; 22 clients at PUSPEN Serenda and 20 clients at PUSPEN Tampin,” he said here on Sunday.

Furthermore, the assignment given to officers will continue as usual, monitoring the area from time to time.

“Overall, the condition of the clients, residents of the department’s special houses and the department’s assets have been safely moved,” he said.
