KAJANG, February 5, 2024 – National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) members are urged to make preparations, especially regarding mental readiness to implement the new act replacing the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.

The Director General of NADA, Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon, stated that this is crucial to ensure every officer and staff member is equipped with a high level of readiness to confront greater challenges after the new act is enacted.

โ€œI want to emphasize on the mental readiness. We are executing a significant surge this year through the amendments to the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.

โ€œWhat we will implement is a revolution and a significant shift that requires readiness, response, and preparations from every party. So, these amendments require our mental readiness to be at the highest level.

โ€œI have also instructed my deputies, as well as division and state directors to always be prepared and make preparations, such as the preparation of the Director Generalโ€™s Standing Order, new procedures, MyAADK System, and so on. We do not have much time because these amendments will be presented in the Parliament by next month,โ€ he said here on Monday.

He said this while delivering a speech during the Monthly Assembly of NADA for February.
