PUTRAJAYA, Oct 12, 2023 – The National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) has successfully secured third place for the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA)’s Innovation Day Award with its Mobile Recovery Treatment (NADA MRT) innovation.

NADA MRT is a new mobile recovery and treatment service by NADA following its May 2022 launch.

Highlighting the concept of ‘NADA To You’, MRT aims to facilitate the client’s recovery process while ensuring easy access to the treatment and rehabilitation system for people struggling with drug addiction.

Earlier, the Minister of Home Affairs, YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, together with his Deputy, Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), Datuk Ruji Ubi presented a cash gift of RM1,000 to NADA Director General, Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon.

To date, a total of 3,279 people have used the NADA MRT service all over the country, compared to the 3,800 people targeted in 2023.

The service not only benefits NADA’s clients both from the district and the institutions but also includes the Malaysian Prisons Department and the Social Welfare Department.

Also present were Deputy Director General (Management), Mrs Shobah Jamil, Deputy Director General (Operations) Khairul Anwar Bachok and NADA Director of Treatment, Medication and Rehabilitation, Siti Mariam Mursidan.
