KAJANG, Oct12, 2023 – The National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) celebrated 87 of their members retiring this year in the NADA Retirement Ceremony 2023 with the theme ‘Titipan Kasih, Kenangan Abadi’ at Sri Akasia Hall, here, on Thursday.

The ceremony is NADA’s manifestation to express their appreciation, acknowledgement, and gratitude to all of the retirees for their service, devotion, and hard work with the Federal Government in general, and NADA in particular.

NADA Director General, Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon said, the duty and trust assumed are highly noble because rehabilitating an addict is a difficult process that demands a great deal of determination and dedication.

“Despite that, the challenges faced did not weaken the spirit of the retirees at all in being a support group for those in need.

“Therefore, their contribution and support in boosting NADA’s name, as well as all of their service and hard work, will undoubtedly be honoured and remembered forever,” he said when opening the ceremony here.

Tuan Sutekno later mentioned that retirement is not a goodbye, but rather calls on them to continue their efforts as experts in preventing and treating drug addiction in their respective communities.

He advised not to view retirement as letting go of a burden, but rather as shouldering the trust of the community for the future development of the nation’s youth.

“In that regard, I welcome everyone to the programmes organized by NADA if anyone misses NADA.

“The skills, expertise and experience gained while serving in the public service can be used as capital to actively continue contributing to the community, especially in line with the message ‘Drug Prevention Begins at Home’,” he added.

Also present, Deputy Director General (Management), Mrs Shobah Jamil; NADA Deputy Director General (Operations), Tuan Khairul Anwar Bachok; and Divisional, State and PUSPEN Directors.
