NADA, BKN cooperation

KAJANG, June 13, 2023 – The Director General of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA), Sutekno Ahmad Belon welcome the joint cooperation visit from the Narcotics Control Bureau (BKN) of Brunei Darussalam at NADA Headquarters here today.

The visit aims to further strengthen the already established international relations as well as intensify cooperation between the two parties, especially in efforts to eradicate drugs and substance addiction.

During the session, both parties shared views on the issue at hand and scenario of substance abusers, especially among those who are left untreated and abandoned by the aftermath of addiction in both countries.

The BKN delegates was taken to the Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) Dengkil, Selangor after the session at the headquarter finishes to observe the program approach and techniques implemented for client station there.

In addition, they saw the results of the client’s efforts in term of skill and vocational training module through the field of agriculture, namely Rock Melon cultivation.

The delegation was led by the Acting Deputy Director, BKN Brunei Darussalam, Tuan Zainol Adi.

In other news, a separate program was conducted where the Brunei delegation was brought to PUSPEN Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur to observe for themselves the voluntary recovery approach implemented by NADA through AADK’s i-Pulih Model.

Also present was the Deputy Director General (Operations) of NADA, Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin; NADA Prevention Division Director, Zainuddin Abdullah; NADA Enforcement and Security Division Director, Azmi Mustapa; NADA Policy, Planning and Research Division Director, Othman Mohamed Nazari; Chief Assistant Director (International) of NADA, Norkumala Abdul Rahman; Director of PUSPEN Dengkil, Ruziliza Ibrahim and Director of PUSPEN Sungai Besi, Nurshuhaila Ab Rahman.
