High-Risk Area (KBT) Reduction Design Thinking Workshop on a holistic plan framework

GEORGETOWN, January 28, 2024 – The Penang State National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) organised a workshop on design thinking to reduce drug addicts in high-risk areas of Mukim 12, Southwest District, last Wednesday.

The Design Thinking Workshop is a work of the Drug Addiction High-Risk Area Reduction Committee.

The workshop is joined by 46 representatives of departments, agencies, non-governmental organisations, and community leaders to plan and produce a comprehensive action plan to combat drug and substance abuse.

Some of the activities include group discussions, as well as idea presentations and sharing by the workshop participants.

The workshop also not only focuses on drug addiction issues but also focuses on social diversion, healthy lifestyle and safety aspects.

The effort is, among other things, is to initiate the Integrated Initiative Programme involving every party to combat drug addiction issues in High-Risk Areas.

Other than that, it is also Penang NADA’s commitment to ensure that the systematic 5-year period of Penang Against Drug Threats (PLAD) is achieved by 2025.

Among the KBT programmes that have been initiated are in Mukim 1, North Seberang Perai (SPU) District, and Mukim 21, Central Seberang Perai (SPT) District in 2021.

Meanwhile, 2022 includes Mukim 20, SPT District, and Mukim 13, Northeast (TL) District, whereas Mukim 19, SPT District and Mukim 13, TL District are focused on in 2023.
