PUSPEN Tiang Dua crowned the overall champion of NADA i-DEEN 2023

KAJANG, July 27, 2023 – Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) Tiang Dua, Melaka was crowned as the overall champion of the National Anti-Drugs Agency’s (NADA) i-DEEN Program for this year.

The victory follows the PUSPEN winning the championship in two categories of the competition, namely Adhan and Recitation of the Quran.

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, YB Datuk Seri Dr Shamsur Anuar Nasarah said, this unique program is the only competition of its kind held in Malaysia that involves participants from among NADA clients.

“I believe and we are confident that if we instill and plant spiritual values โ€‹โ€‹among clients it will help a lot in the effort to eradicate and improve recovery efforts.

“Through this program its best to use the Holy Qur’an as the guide in our daily lives, I am confident and believe that it is able to be a fortress of IMAN and build inner strength whether it is the clients or ourselves.

“I hope this program will continue to be implemented and make the Holy Quran a guide for them,” he said when making the official speech at Dewan Sri Akasia, NADA Headquarters, Kajang here today.

A total of 264 NADA clients who are currently undergoing the Institutional Treatment and Rehabilitation Program (RPDI) and the Community Treatment and Rehabilitation Program (RPDK) are participating in the NADA i-DEEN 2023 Program.

Meanwhile, Director General of NADA, Mr. Sutekno Ahmad Belon said, NADA’s i-DEEN program is one of the activities carried out for the recovery process of clients whether those undergoing treatment in the community or institutions across the country.

“The thing that is strongly emphasized through this NADA i-Pulih Model is to further strengthen the psycho-spirituality of the recovery process throughout the life of each client who undergoes the rehabilitation treatment process at NADA.

“Through the participation of talented clients, their talents can be further highlighted when they return back to the community and will be able to at least lead a ceremony during any event that suits the need,” he said.

Also present were the Deputy Director General (Management) of NADA, Mrs. Chan Hong Jin and the Deputy Director General (Operations) of NADA, Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin.
