1,000 residents attended the NADA Community Day program with the Honorable Deputy Minister of Home Affairs. (TMDN)

LENGGONG, July 17, 2023 – More than 1,000 residents attended the memorious event to liven up the NADA Community Day Program with THe Honorable Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (TMDN) at Tasik Sendarhalu, here today.

The program organized by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) was held with the aim of promoting and delivering NADA services to the community in addition to raising the awareness of various levels of society regarding the role of the community to join the government in fighting drugs as a whole.

Director General of NADA, Sutekno Ahmad Belon said, the program also aims to mobilize the cooperation of various parties including government agencies, the private sector, industry, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community leaders in a holistic drug prevention effort.

“Efforts to mobilize drug prevention campaigns should be supported in an integrated manner that involves the responsibility and cooperation of all parties.

“Implementing programs like this can popularize the services of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) in general and NADA in particular which involves the cluster of security to be delivered to the community.

“Moreover, the presence of the honorable Deputy Minister of Home Affairs today as an important figure shows the government’s determination to mobilize together with the community to overcome the drug problem which necessarily requires utmost efforts and a high spirit of commitment to free the people of this country from the shackles of drug problems,” he said.

He said while speaking in conjunction with the program’s opening ceremony on Sunday.

Earlier Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, The Honorable Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah officiated the program.

During the same program, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, the honorable Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah together with the Director General of NADA, Sutekno Ahmad Belon and the leaders of NADA participated in the cycling Ride Against Drug 3.0 @ Lenggong in a leisurely manner for a distance of 18 kilometers through several villages in the vicinity.

During the bicycle ride, Datuk Seri Dr Shamsul Anuar pay a visit to three nearby client homes in the NADA community area to greet them and their families in their lifelong recovery efforts.

Furthermore, various programs were also held simultaneously such as service exhibitions of various federal and state government agencies and departments, futsal, netball and coloring competitions for children.

Also present were Deputy Director General (Management), Mrs. Chang Hong Jin, NADA Prevention Division Director, Zainuddin Abdullah; NADA Enforcement and Security Division Director, Azmi Mustafa; NADA Treatment, Medicine and Rehabilitation Division Director, Siti Mariam Mursidan and NADA Policy, Planning and Research Division Director, Othman Nazari.
