GEORGETOWN, June 20, 2023 – The Penang State National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) is organizing a ‘Design Thinking’ Workshop on the Greening of High Risk Areas (KBT) Drug Addiction for Mukim 19, Seberang Perai Tengah District (SPT) on June 12, 2023 in Bukit Mertajam, here.

The workshop aims to plan and produce an integrated action plan to combat the problem of drug abuse in the area.

A total of 45 participants consisting of representatives of departments, government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as well as community leaders from Mukim 19 SPT area participated in the workshop.

Among the contents of the workshop are brainstorming and group discussion as well as presentation of ideas from the workshop participants.

In order to respond to the challenge of Controlled Drugs 2025, the Penang State NADA continues to commit to drawing up a systematic plan for a period of 5 years, namely Penang Lawan Ancaman Dadah (PLAD) which is set in motion from 2021 to 2025.

Among the KBT programs implemented through the PLAD campaign are in Mukim 1, Seberang Perai Utara District (SPU) and Mukim 21, Seberang Perai Tengah District (SPT) in 2021.

The year 2022 for Mukim 20, SPT District and Mukim 13, North East District (TL) while the focus is on Mukim 19, SPT District and Mukim 13, TL District for this year.

The program planning for the year 2024 focuses on KBT Mukim 16, SPT District and the study of the success of the program is also carried out for all KBT.

Meanwhile, for KBT that was successfully greened according to the indicators set by NADA, the greening maintenance program continues to be implemented.
