KAJANG, 9 January 2023 – The National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA) succeeded in achieving both key performance indicators (KPI) for 2022, namely the rate of drug abuse plus addiction per 100 thousand residents and the client recovery rate percentage.

NADA Director General, Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon said, the target for the rate of drug abuse and addiction in Malaysia in 2023 is 440 cases for every 100 thousand population.

โ€œThe rate is 395 cases till September 2022, and 377 cases will remain below the 400 level margin in 2021 as targeted goal in the Drugs Controlled 2025.

“NADA’s overall performance is measured through two main KPIs, namely The Rate of Drug Abuse and Addiction in Malaysia which is seen through the number of cases per 100 thousand population and the Client Recovery Rate which is measured through the percentage of recovery of clients who have undergone treatment and rehabilitation programs at NADA or the percentage of client relapse.

“The target for the Client Recovery Rate for the year 2023 is at a rate of 75 percent recovery of clients who have undergone treatment and rehabilitation programs at NADA or a 28 percent relapse. It was convey when delivering the Director General’s New Year’s Mandate in conjunction with the Monthly Assembly (January) here, on Monday,โ€ he said.

Furthermore, Tuan Sutekno said, to support the two KPIs, NADA set it for the year 2023.
