NADA broaden service centre role

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 September 2022 – The National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA) is in the middle of expanding the role of its Service Centre in an effort to strengthen the role of government agencies and community in an effort to combat drug addiction nationwide.

Early Initiative was made due to the evolution trend of drug usage in the country from using traditional drugs to synthetic drugs making it more severe.

Previously, NADA Service Centre was only focused on providing Methadone replacement therapy treatment program (RTG), the goal now is to transform the wants and needs into diversifying it into multiple application for the client such as treating recovery through treatment and rehabilitation program within the community (RPDK). The matter was voiced during a visit by NADA Deputy Director General (Operations), Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin at NADA Service Centres in Chow Kit and San Peng on Tuesday.

Earlier that day, Dato’ Dr. Muhamad Sade was briefed on the work schedule and operation of the two NADA Service Centre by NADA Dang Wangi district Head, Nik Muhammad Kasyful Azzim Abdullah. During the visit, Dato’ Dr. Muhamad Sade spent time meeting Seri Selangor Residents Association (PERSIS) led by PERSIS Chairman Mohd Noorzaimi Shamsuri.

Also present were the Chief Assistant Director (Community Rehabilitation) of NADA, Dr. Nazira Sadiron and NADA Director of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, Md. Razif Wan.
