Kajang, September 22nd, 2021 – Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) will bring a proposal to Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) to make it compulsory for all civil workers to take Covid -19 vaccine injection.

According to JPA, several steps can be taken by the ministry or department based on the current rules.

Based on records to date, the percentage of civil workers who have been vaccinated has reached almost 98 percent compared to the group who have not.

“Even so, this matter should be given priority to provide confidence and reassurance for the public who come to deal with civil workers at government premises.

“At the same time, as an effort to restore government services to full operational level based on the phases of Pelan Pemulihan Negara (PPN),” he says in a statement on Wednesday.

In this regard, JPA will bring several options of action and approach to be decided by the MKN.

However, the proposed order is exempted for civil workers who have strong reasons regarding health factors.

โ€œWe have to protect ourselves before protecting others,โ€ he explains.

Civil workers are subjected to Peraturan-Peraturan Pegawai Awam (Kelakuan dan Tatatertib) 1993 [P.U. (A) 395/1993.

Therefore, all civil workers must comply with the existing rules, including attendance on duty in the office when instructed to work by the Head of Department.
