Prevention is a long-term strategy that aims to protect a person from being involved with drug abuse. To achieve this goal, one needs to improve the protective factor and diminish the risk factor. With this powerful approach, every individual will succeed in preventing himself from getting involved with drug symptoms even though it is easy to obtain.
According to the Anti-Drug Agency Act 2004, preventive functions are as follows: –
- Educate the public against malicious drug abuse;
- Obtain the awareness and maintain public support in combating malicious drug abuse; and
- Advise ministers on policies relating to the prevention of malicious drug abuse.
