You might just be the most influential person in the life of your family member.
Parents generally have more of an influence on their children’s life compared to friends, music, TV, Internet and celebrities. If teenagers learnt of the dangers of drug abuse from their parents, the likelihood of them picking up the habit is much lower. Help them make safe choices by:
• Listening and interacting more with them, as well as being more involved in their daily life and activities.
• Firmly state that you as a parent would not want them to be involved with drugs and other potentially harmful substances.
