NADA Open Day 2022 Celebrated Merrily

DENGKIL, 27 May 2022 – The effort of changing the negative perspective of the people towards the addicts, Ministry of Home Affairs through National Anti-drugs Agency (NADA) has organized NADA Open Day 2022 which was held at Pusat Pemulihan Penagihan Narkotik (PUSPEN) Dengkil, Selangor today.

The Open Day activity is NADAโ€™s annual event to promote their services despite of giving the opportunity to the community to get to know the services provided by NADA. It is also aimed to let people acknowledge about the Drug Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation Program and Lifelong Rehabilitation Program for NADA clients.

The program was launched by YBhg. Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa, Deputy Secretary General (Policy and Control) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) represented YBhg. Dato ‘Seri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz, Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs is an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs to increase collaborative efforts with government departments, non-governmental organizations and the community in mobilizing drug addiction prevention, treatment and rehabilitation activities in the community.

The initiative is the best medium for the community to get to know NADA closely, thus removing the stigma of a group of clients who are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation programs provided by NADA being bullied, tortured and not receiving proper treatment.

Apart from that, the public can also see for themselves the services and facilities provided by NADA for clients who are in 30 PUSPENs throughout the country.

The experiences and information channeled on the NADA 2022 Open Day are hoped could increase efforts of the community and family members of clients to help those stuck with drug problems can undergo rehabilitation and maintain lifelong recovery.

The experience gained in conjunction with the NADA 2022 Open Day can reduce or eliminate the stigma and bias of society towards drug addicts who are or have undergone treatment and rehabilitation programs provided by NADA.

NADA Director General, Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon; Deputy Director General (Management) Mrs. Chan Hong Jin; NADA Deputy Director General (Operations), Dato โ€™Dr Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin and the families of NADA clients were present in the event.
