Perlis, August 17, 2021 – Mesyuarat Majlis Tindakan Membanteras Dadah (MTMD) Bilangan 1 Tahun 2021 Peringkat Negeri Perlis was held in Bilik Gerakan 1 Kompleks Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Perlis, here, through video conference and face-to-face (hibrid).

The meeting was chaired by YB Tuan Azman Bin Yusof, the Officer of Government Secretary (SUK) Negeri Perlis who represented YAB Dato’ Seri Azlan bin Man, Perlis’ Chief Minister.

Some of the important matters highlighted in the meeting was regarding YB Tuan Azman encouraged all government and private agencies, as well as society leaders in Negeri Perlis to work together in combating drug abuse and also to help and solidly collaborate with National Anti-drugs Agency (NADA) in achieving Dadah Terkawal before 2025.

The state government has approved a few suggestions such as the implementation of Pelan Tindakan 2021 which was about Penghijauan Kawasan Berisiko Tinggi (KBT) bagi Penyalahgunaan Dadah, Substan dan Pelencongan Sosial Negeri Perlis as well as approving Bengkel Kepimpinan Pelajar by using the module of Cognitive Behaviour Theory (CBT) from Perlis’ Education Department.

Nevertheless, in the meeting, YB Tuan Azman had asked for NADA’s state office in Perlis to prioritize the implementation of Bengkel Jiwa Murni Basmi Dadah from Department of National Unity and Integration (JPNIN) respectively under the allocation amounted RM5,100.00 to RM138,600.00 which had to be scrutinized and discussed with State Finance’s Officer.

Meanwhile, he also recommended for all programs in KBT to be held at a same time by not following the action phase’s plan that was suggested with the reason of Perlis being a small state.

He also hoped for all private and government agencies, Non Governmental Organizations (NGO) and community to collaborate together in overcoming the issue of drug abuse and social diversion

Tuan Othman bin Mohamed Nazari, NADA’s Director of Policy, Planning and Research Department was also present throughout the meeting, representing General Director.
