Working Visit By General Director To NADA Terengganu

Dungun: June 16th, 2020 – Terengganu outwards other states in the issue of drug abuse. According to statistic, the number of addicts in Terengganu are approximately 11, 409 people in 2019, which contributes to 0.92% of the total population.

The National Anti-drugs Agency (NADA) is carrying out

Integrated Initiative Program to Address the Problems of Drug Abuse, Substances and Social Diversion and making Dungun as one of the pioneer areas in Terengganu state. From 97.4% of Malay population in Dungun, 0.3% of it is Chinese and meanwhile, 1.1% is Indian and the others are 1.2%.

The visit by NADA’s General Director, YDH CP Dato’ Sri Zulkifli Abdullah on June, 14-16 is to observe the development of pilot project which has been done in Kuala Dungun’s area. He manages to meet the locals and conducts a dialogue session with them to discuss openly about the problem they face around their area. This session is to collect information directly about drug’s issues in Dungun area. YDH CP Dato’ Sri Zulkifli Abdullah also gets to have a meeting with Terengganu’s Chief Police, the Head of Terengganu Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division together with NADA’s main officers to discuss and share opinions in handling the drug’s issues in Terengganu, especially in Dungun area.

At the end of the visit, he gets the chance to meet two Adun Yang Berhormat, which are Tuan Haji Wan Hapandi bin Wan Nik, Ahli Dewan Undangan Sura, and Yang Berhormat Tuan Haji Alias bin Harin, Ahli Dewan Undangan Rantau Abang and the heads of departments. This meeting is to ensure all agencies that are involved play their roles in wiping out the drug’s issues in Terengganu.
