KAJANG, April 3, 2023 – The National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) personnel are encourage to seek spiritual tranquillity during the holy month in an effort to treat and help those who are stuck in the spiral of drug addiction within the institutions and the community.

NADA Director General, Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon said, the approach is very much in line with the practice of fasting during the month of Ramadan this year.

He said, the context of fasting is to abstain from eating and drinking and all actions that can invalidate the fast.

“The same goes for those who are undergoing the Treatment and Rehabilitation Program in Institutions (RPDK) or Institutions (RPDI) within a period of 2 to 3 years. During this period, they need to ‘fast’ in order to control their lust from withdrawal and return back to its original cycle.

“This approach can be used in the recovery of those involved in drug addiction where they refrain from taking drugs and substances that can harm themselves.

“Due to the consumption of the prohibited substance, it has affected the life of an individual.

“After the RPDK or RPDI program, they can practice a new lifestyle after being discharge when they have been cured,” he said when addressing in conjunction with the NADA Monthly Gathering (April) here, on Monday.

Furthermore, he emphasize three main aspects that need to be paid attention in detail, namely intellectual, physical and emotional condition to ensure NADA is able to reach an institution stage where itโ€™s the only reliable place that implements a drug addiction rehabilitation program.
