Prevention Division

Prevention is a long-term strategy intended to protect a person from becoming involved in drug abuse. To that end, a person needs to increase the protection factors and reduce the risk factors. Through such strength, each individual will be successful in preventing himself from becoming involved in drugs even if such drugs are easily obtainable.

Function

According to the Anti-Drugs Agency Act 2004, the functions of prevention are as follows:

• To educate the public about the abuse of dangerous drugs;
• To obtain and maintain the public’s support in fighting abuse of dangerous drugs; and
• To advise ministers on policies related to the prevention of dangerous drug abuse
