NADA GD is among the panels of the ‘Transformasi Parlimen Perkasa Legislatif’ Symposium

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 August 2022 – The Malaysian Parliament Symposium 2022, themed ‘Transformasi Parlimen Perkasa Legislatif’ was recently held at the Banquet Hall, Main Block, Parliament, by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, YB Tan Sri Azhar Azizan Harun.

Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon, Director General of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA), was one of the panellists in the forum titled Marijuana untuk Perubatan: Adakah Malaysia Bersedia?

Tuan Sutekno also addressed issues concerning marijuana or cannabis users in the country.

He emphasised that it is difficult for those who are addicted to cannabis-type drugs to recover, and that clinical evidence is required to ensure the use, whether the effect is positive or negative.

Moderators were YB Dr. Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen, Member of Parliament for Bandar Kuching, Dr. Nur Azzalia Kamaruzaman, Director of the National Poison Center, and Tan Sri Dr Muhammad Shafee Md Abdullah, Deputy President of PARFUM.
