Working visit of the Director General to Langkawi district NADA

LANGKAWI, 13 June 2022 – The Director General, Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon, paid a visit to the Langkawi District National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) on Friday as part of a series of working visits to Langkawi Island, Kedah.

The purpose of the working visit is to observe the District NADA’s operation and work in all aspects, including treatment and rehabilitation, prevention, and enforcement.

Langkawi District NADA Chief, Mohammad Nurddin Ramli, gave a briefing on operations and activities during the session, focusing on factors such as updating client profiles, suspect profiles (OYDS), and the implementation of Community Treatment and Rehabilitation (RPDK) programmes.

Meanwhile, the Director General has asked all NADA employees to focus on NADA’s approach, which is based on three models: i-Pulih AADK, i-Prihatin AADK, and i-Cegah AADK.

The purpose of the DG Working Visit was to observe the operation, inspect the district NADA office’s facilities, and become acquainted with the agency’s personnel.

Pulau Langkawi District NADA, for reference, covers 478 square kilometres and has a population of 111,500 people spread throughout six mukims and 87 villages.

Tuan Sutekno also delivered messages, advice, and reprimands to personnel in order for them to carry out their duties with trust and integrity.

Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon also took the chance to meet with all District NADA Head Officers throughout the state during a series of working visits by the Director General.

The purpose of the conference is to ensure that all actions are performed at the district level in accordance with instructions and policy decisions made at the headquarters level.

It also allows for direct transfer of information from the Director General to NADA officers at the district level.

The conference was conducted in the Room Meeting, Ministry of Home Affairs Complex, Langkawi, Kedah, and was attended by 10 District NADA Officers from Kota Setar and Pokok Sena districts; Yan district; Langkawi Island area; Padang Terap district; and Kuala Muda district.

Mr. Sutekno gave a briefing on the agency’s key core areas, stressing the treatment and rehabilitation through the Program Rawatan dan Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (RPDK),RPD Institusi (RPDI), and NADA new service, Mobile Recovery Treatment (MRT AADK).

At the same time, the Director General emphasised that each District NADA Head Officer has a duty and responsibility to fulfil in order to provide effective service to Keluarga Malaysia.

Director of NADA Division Treatment, Medical and Rehabilitation, Siti Mariam Mursidan; NADA Chief Assistant Director (Community Rehabilitation), Dr. Nazira Sadiron and Kedah NADA Director, Abdul Hamediee Ibrahim were present in the visit.
