KAJANG, March 9, 2023 – A total number of 3,750 clients successfully obtained the Mobile Recovery Treatment (MRT AADK) service which was in operation throughout the country since it was first launched on 19 May 2022.

The Director General of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA), Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon said, the facility can not only be used by NADA clients who are located in districts and institutions but also includes the Malaysian Prisons Department and the Social Welfare Department.

He said, the figure has even exceeded the initial target of 1,427 clients.

“This year, I hope that with the addition of new members called the MRT AADK expert group, the team will continue to expand its wings in delivering the best service to the community.

“The members will be split in group to help provide services in Sabah and Sarawak since the two states have a large number of districts and clients spread over a large radius placement.

“Thus, it requires more energy to gather these services and members will be given priority to those who have served in Borneo or originated from there,” he said.

He said this while delivering the speech in conjunction with the MRT AADK Implementation Coordination Meeting Number 1/2023 here, on Thursday.

In the meantime, Tuan Sutekno said, state NADA directors and Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) need to coordinate and monitor their respective state MRT AADK teams to ensure that services can be implemented more systematically, comprehensively and efficiently.

Also present were the Deputy Director General (Management) of AADK, Mrs. Chan Hong Jin; AADK Deputy Director General (Operations), Dato’ Dr Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin; AADK Treatment, Medicine and Rehabilitation Division Director, Siti Mariam Mursidan; Director of the Prevention Division, Zainuddin Abdullah and Director of the Enforcement and Security Division, Azmi Mustafa.
