JAKIM, NADA provide sacrificial rites pratices to clients in the institution

KUCHING, 12 July 2022 – Keluarga Malaysia Keluarga Sejahtera Safari Program 2022 organized by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) Sarawak and the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) aims to apply Islamic values ​​as a guide to life to be more motivated to make changes for the better.

Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon, Director General of NADA, stated that the subject was implemented through the practical manner of sacrificial rites in conjunction with the Eid Adha celebration, which is celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

He claimed that through developing human capital that can advance the nation’s understanding of Islam, the programme is also considered as having the potential to help clients maintain their sense of identity in the course of their daily lives.

“Keluarga Malaysia Keluarga Sejahtera Safari Program 2022, organized by JAKIM Sarawak together with PUSPEN Kuching, is part of the program planned in conjunction with the Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia this year.

“One of the goals is to offer moral and spiritual support to clients who are going through the rehabilitation process so that they don’t get stuck in the intake of these illegal substances after going through treatment and rehabilitation as well as increase public awareness of the risks of drug abuse and drug rehabilitation in communities and institutions,” he said.

This was mentioned by him on Tuesday when he presided over the event at the Pusat Pemulihan Penagihan Narkotik (PUSPEN) Kuching in Puncak Borneo.

Director of JAKIM Sarawak Hamdan Jar’ee, Director of NADA Treatment, Medical and Rehabilitation Division Siti Mariam Mursidan, Director of Sarawak State NADA Iskandar Turkee, and Director of Pusat Pemulihan Penagihan Narkotik (PUSPEN) Kuching, Yuliani Yahya were also present to ensure the program’s success.

Sutekno stated that NADA is constantly prepared to confront the issue and problem of drug usage in the meantime.

However, he emphasized that all parties, including the community, should cooperate since the matter might have an impact on the nation’s security, economic, and general well-being.

“If this problem is not properly handled, it will only get worse in society.

“This programme is expected to meet the goal of nurturing the spirit of love for religious knowledge so that the strength of the soul and spirit can stop lust from doing actions that violate religious law,” he explained.
