GIRN Helps NADA’s Enforcement Operation In Becoming More Efficient, Effective

KAJANG, October 13th 2021 – The history was made for the first time ever, National Anti-drugs Agency (NADA) had received Goverment Integrated Radio Network (GIRN)’s terminal from National Security Council (MKN) in Wednesday.

The reception of this communication equipment consisted of 128 handheld units and 16 desktop units and it was indirectly establishing NADA as GIRN’s 17th agency user.

At the same time, the equipment put NADA in line with other enforcement team such as Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Immigration Department of Malaysia and Custom Department of Malaysia in the usage of united communication technology in commencing a more efficient enforcement.

Datuk Dr Muhamad Sade Mohamad Amin, Deputy Director (Operation) of NADA said, this agency’s enforcement team will become more proactive by using GIRN communication system.

“NADA is certain with GIRN’s usage, the action to detect whoever involved in drug abuse in enforcement operation will be better in terms of effectiveness and is able to attract huge success.

“Besides tracking operation, GIRN also helps NADA in collecting intelligence information’s operation in order to plan strategies and actions in building a more accurate drug abuse’s profile,” he said.

Also present in the event were Tuan Hamzah Ishak, Deputy General Director of National Security Council and Encik Shakir Badri Sepurdin, Head of Operation Officer from Sapura Research Sdn Bhd (SRSB).

Meanwhile, Muhamad Sade hoped for addition of GIRN terminal units in the future within the entire county.

“This also contributes in strengthen the cooperation between MKN and NADA with the support from SRSB from time to time in realising the vision of Malaysia as Harmonious and Honourable Country and Malaysia’s Community Free from Drugs as well as strategic plan of Controlled Drugs 2025,” he mentioned.
