ESA 2021: Innovative, people -friendly ideas curb drug problems

KAJANG, 31 March 2022 – As one of the agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA), the role and responsibilities of the National Anti -Drug Agency (AADK) is considered significant in efforts to combat drug addiction in Malaysia.

Deputy Home Minister II, Datuk Jonathan Yasin said, in line with the goal, prevention services, rehabilitation treatment and law enforcement need contemporary, more creative and innovative ideas to curb the problem of drug abuse.

“I am of the view that preventive services, rehabilitative treatment and law enforcement to curb the problem of drug abuse in our country need contemporary, more creative and innovative ideas.”

โ€œNADA’s three integrated modules, namely NADA’s i-Pulih Model for treatment and rehabilitation services, NADA’s i-Cegah Model (delivery of prevention education) to all Malaysian families and NADA’s i-Prihatin Model for more systematic and structured drug law enforcement are initiatives that able to provide a robust and people-friendly NADA service, โ€he explained.

He said this while giving speech at the NADA Excellence Service Award (ESA) 2021 ceremony at the NADA Headquarters, Kajang here today.

Moreover, NADA Director General, Tuan Sutekno Ahmad Belon; Secretary of the Prisons, Anti -Drugs and Volunteer Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, Datuk Musa Sulaiman and Deputy Director General (Management) of AADK, Puan Chan Hong Jin also presented to make the ceremony a success.

Simultaneously, Datuk Jonathan also hoped that NADA staffs would create new methods and procedures in line with the latest technological developments.

“In addition, I also look forward for innovative ideas from NADA employees through the creation of new methods and procedures using technology so that the quality of services provided in line with the latest technological developments, whether in the aspects of data analysis, prevention education and public awareness, flexible treatment modules, officer capacity building and drug-related law enforcement, โ€he added.

In relation, a total of 470 NADA employees who are commited in giving their best performances received ESA 2021.
