21 NADA clients passed SPM

KAJANG, June 9, 2023 – The National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) clients who sat for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination for the year 2022 out of 28 clients 21 successfully passed in the subjects they took.

A total of 13 candidates are from the Narcotic Addiction Rehabilitation Center (PUSPEN) Papar, Sabah while the other eight candidates are from PUSPEN Seri Iskandar, Perak.

According to NADA, all the candidates are undergoing the Institutional Treatment and Rehabilitation (RPDI) program at both the PUSPEN institutions.

“However, looking at the educational opportunities for clients, NADA provides a special module which is the Program Akses Pendidikan Klien (PAPK) specifically for those under the age of 18.

“Through the PAPK program, they will follow a systematic class schedule and be taught by teachers appointed through the Malaysia Short-Term Employment Program (MySTEP) Scheme who have a bachelor’s degree and experience in the field of Education as well as teaching personnel from the District Education Office,” NADA said. In a statement here today.

According to the NADA statement, the PAPK program was first introduced in 2015 to help students who dropped out while undergoing the RPDI program at PUSPEN.

“The effort is to give opportunities to clients to improve and prepare themselves for the upcoming future in academic aspects and all candidates are registered as private candidates with payment rates based on the core subjects taken.

“The total number of subjects taken was six which are Bahasa Melayu; English; Science; Mathematics; History and Islamic Education or Moral Education,” explained the statement.

Moreover, to all candidate(clients) who passed the SPM 2022 will have the opportunity to continue their studies to a higher level such as Institut Kemahiran Mara (IKM), Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP), Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN), GiatMara Malaysia dan politeknik. NADA said.
